How do I post an entry to my Travel Journal from my mobile phone?

Simply send a text message from your mobile phone to your Travel Journal. Each text message you send will be displayed as a separate entry in your Travel Journal.

  1. Compose a text message on your mobile phone.
  2. Send the message to one of these short codes:

    Privacy level Short code
    Send to public 8555
    Send to family and friends 8888
    Send to private 8000

  3. Press the Send button.

How do I post my location to my Travel Journal from my mobile phone?

Manually update your location simply by sending a text message from your mobile phone to your Travel Journal. Each text message you send will be displayed as a separate entry in your Travel Journal.

  1. Compose a text message on your mobile phone with the format: L: place name
    For example, if you were in France you could send L: Paris
  2. Send the message to one of these short codes:

    Privacy level Short code
    Send to public 8555
    Send to family and friends 8888
    Send to private 8000

  3. Press the Send button.

What is the maximum length of a text message?

For most mobile phones, the maximum length of a text message is 160 characters. The 160 characters can comprise of words, numbers, or punctuation symbols.

What happens if my text message exceeds the maximum length?

Most mobile phones these days support "long messages". When enabled, long message feature splits up messages longer than 160 characters in to multiple text messages.

If you send a text message of 300 characters to your Travel Journal, your message will appear as two separate entries. You will be charged for each text that is sent.
