Domestic calls

Domestic rates are per minute for outgoing calls. All calls are billed in 30 second increments.

Activating your service

Your Argentina mobile phone number is located on a white sticker on the reverse side of your SIM card packaging, above the bar code. The mobile phone number will begin 07. It will also be located on the SIM card beginning "Your Telephone number is..."

  1. Travel to Argentina.
  2. Be sure that the battery is adequately charged.
  3. Insert the SIM card into your GSM phone*.
  4. Turn the phone on.
  5. Enter PIN code^.
  6. Dial *150.
  7. Start calling.

* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.

^ Your Argentina SIM card may require a 4-digit PIN code found in your paperwork. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly 3 times. Follow your mobile phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.

Making and receiving calls

How to make a call

To make an international call from your Argentina mobile phone dial 00, followed by the country code (1 for the US) and phone number.

How family and friends call you

Family and friends need to dial the international prefix then the country code 54911 and your mobile phone number.
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 54911 and then your mobile phone number.

Recharging your account

The Argentina SIM card comes with 10 ARS of credit preloaded and two 20 ARS vouchers which can be loaded when you arrive in Argentina.

To add credit to your Argentina SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called Flexcards. You will find these vouchers at most local convenience stores, petrol stations and Telecom Movilcarga outlets in Argentina. They are available in 10 ARS denominational increments up to a maximum of 100 AR ($35 USD).

To recharge your account using a voucher:

  1. Purchase a recharge voucher.
  2. Scratch off the grey protective layer to reveal your voucher code.
  3. Enter your voucher code.

To recharge your account onliner:

  1. Go to www.movilcarga.com.ar
  2. Click Recargas online

Do not purchase another Argentina SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher! Your incoming calls are always free, even when you run out of credit.

To check your current account balance at any time:

  1. Dial *150 from your mobile phone.
    You will hear your remaining account balance.

Customer service for your Argentina SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing *111 from your mobile phone.

Service life

Every time you recharge your account, the validity of your SIM card will be extended for 8 months.

If you do not recharge your account within 8 months, your SIM card and phone number will be recycled and any remaining credit will be forfeit. To get connected again you will be required to purchase another SIM card.
